Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Jan. 23, GNA - Barima Yeboah Kodie, Aduanahene of Dormaa Traditional Area, has advised parents and guardians to treat their children with care and give them the needed quality education.
He noted that children are the greatest assets and future leaders who should be nurtured well to be able to play meaningful roles in future.
Barima Yeboah Kodie was addressing a get-together organized for more than 150 orphans and their guardians by Dormaa F.M. Station at Dormaa-Ahenkro, funded by Mr K. Dei, a citizen of Dormaa-Ahenkro based in London.
Barima Kodie was not happy about how some guardians and parents maltreat children especially orphans, adding that "whoever shows kindness to the under-privileged does himself a lot of good". Barima Kodie warned parents and guardians not to spend lavishly on funerals and other activities but to invest in the education of their children.
The Reverend Felix John Yeboah, Dormaa District Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, noted that with diligence, good composure and determination, one's destiny could be changed. He urged churches, individuals and organizations to have compassion for orphans and design special programmes for them to make them feel happy.
