Apam (C/R), July 18, GNA - The Headmaster of Charity International Senior High School at Apam, Mr Joseph Bartel Essilfie, has appealed to parents to take keen interest in the education of their children. Mr Essilfie gave the advise at a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting at Apam, at the weekend.

He said both parents and teachers had a role to play in the training of the child and cautioned parents against dumping their wards in schools and leaving everything to the teachers.

The Headmaster was not happy with the poor attendance of parents to the PTA meeting, saying that, only 30 parents out of over 500 attended the meeting, and also expressed his disappointment over the irregular payment of fees.

He said the school intends to have an open day, to sell the school to the public and called for the cooperation of parents to it successful.

Mr Essilfie reminded the parents that the use of cell phones by students in Senior High Schools had been banned and urged parents to advise their wards against taking cell phones to schools.
