Reverend Clement Achim Gyimah, Head Pastor of the Sunyani Pentecost International Worship Centre has advised parents to train their children on the right path of life for them to become responsible future leaders.

He noted that a lot of adolescent children and youth in the society are now going wayward because they were not brought up in a proper manner to observe and apply good moral values as the basis to attain responsible livelihood.

Rev Gyimah gave the advice when the Church’s children movement presented a quantity of learning materials and personal belongings valued at GH¢4,013.00 to the Kyeremekrom Municipal Assembly Basic School at Kyiribogya in the Sunyani Municipality.

The items included more than 1,000 exercise books, English and information and communication technology text books, 52 slates, 50 pieces of ball pens, 144 pieces of pencils and boxes of chalks.

The rest were180 pieces of erasers, used clothes, packets of toffees, skipping ropes, three footballs, 24 pieces of mathematical sets, 20 copies of good news Bibles, 72 pairs of shoes and buckled sandals.

Rev Gyimah said: “Even though education is a key to progress, that alone cannot make a child responsible since there are a lot of educated people who are messing up in the society because they lack the wisdom of God”.

He therefore expressed the need for parents to ensure their children are equipped with the word of God.

Rev Gyimah explained the donation was made following the Church’s visit to the area for evangelism last year, where they saw the difficulties and challenges of children in the area.

He said as part of the movement’s social responsibilities to achieve its spiritual goals, members decided to make the presentation.

Mr Noah Takyi, Head teacher of the School thanked the Church and the Children’s Movement for the donation and appealed to other charitable groups and philanthropists to emulate the kind gesture.
