The people of Fume in the Avatime Traditional Area, have raised funds during the Easter celebration to complete a health centre and a three-unit nurses quarter's project.
The fundraising durbar on Easter Sunday attracted citizens of the area from all parts of the country and an amount of GH¢5,500 was realised besides the pledges and other material contributions.
The theme for the durbar was: “Rekindle the spirit of brotherliness for unity and development,” and was organised by the Accra and Tema Fume Youth Association.
The Chief of the Town, Togbe Adzesi IV, thanked the people for their commitment towards the development of the community and called for peace and unity to ensure that their development agenda is achieved.
He explained that, it was in the midst of peace and unity that development could thrive to improve the wellbeing of the people and raise the standard of living of the community.
Togbe Adzesi urged the people to refrain from all acts that would breach the peace and stability the nation is enjoying.
He said violence anywhere in the country is dangerous to national cohesion and development.**
