Kumasi, Sept 21, GNA- Mr Kwame Ofori, a sign writer at Bantama, has donated 300 dustbins valued at 40 million cedis to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to help keep the city clean.
He has also employed 10 labourers with a monthly wage of 300,000 cedis each as street sweepers. In addition, he has covered an open trench in front of the Royal Mausoleum in Kumasi, which was a death trap for both pedestrians and motorists.
Speaking to newsmen after the presentation of the bins, which had already been placed at vantage points, namely Kejetia-Bantama main road, Manhyia Palace and the 4BN Military Barracks, Mr Ofori said he had spent eight million cedis to clear a heap of refuse around the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and the barracks.
