Philanthropist donates to Konongo hospital

Konongo (Ash), Nov.9, GNA - An unnamed Italian Philanthropist has donated assorted drugs for the treatment of diabetes worth about 100 million cedis to the Konongo Odumase Government Hospital.

Nana Batafo Akyeampong Nti 11, Chief of Konongo, who presented the drugs on behalf of the philanthropist, said he contacted the Italian to procure the drugs and advised the hospital authorities to use the medicine for the purpose for which they it was donated.

The Reverend Dr Emmanuel Forkuo, a Medical Officer of the Hospital, who received the drugs on behalf of the hospital, expressed appreciation to the chief and the philanthropist for donation. He gave the assurance that the drugs will be given to only patients who deserve them and also gave the assurance that they would be used judiciously.

Mr George K. Frimpong, Asante-Akim North District Chief Executive, appealed to Konongo citizens living abroad to assist the Hospital towards better health care delivery.
