Over the years, the number of roads and streets in Ghana have been in deplorable conditions coursing series of accidents in the country. In this country, it seems it is the sole responsibility of the government to construct roads and other developmental projects.

However, In Accra, the bad nature of some roads in places like Ayigbey Town near Weija have awakened one Mr. Kwakye Yeboah, a philanthropist, to contribute over Three Million and Four Thousand Ghana Cedis GHC3,400.000.00 towards the constructing of roads and gutters in the area.

The residents and other important dignitaries in the area were impressed and therefore named the road after the philanthropist, thus “Kwakye Yeboah Street” during the inauguration.

According to Mr. Kwakye Yeboah, he is setting an example for rich men and women in our society to support the developmental agenda in the country.

He noted that one should not expect to become parliamentary member or a Minister before planning to do something great for their country.

He indicated that Roads around the area are very bad and whenever it rains, it becomes dangerous for the residents. According to him anytime he sees such bad roads in his area he becomes worried. He added that the amount the contributed was the first face of the roads project.

Speaking to news team, the Assemblyman of the area, Hon. Oduro Ampaw was torched by Mr. Yeboah’s effort so he therefore called on other responsible residents to emulate the good example of Mr. Kwakye Yeboah to improve the developmental projects in the area.

He stated that normally when such projects are done, residents presume it is the government or a Member of Parliament who initiated such projects. Credits are therefore directed to the government or the Member of Parliament. He was therefore thankful to the philanthropist.

After inauguration, the Press realized that residents including children were now able to use the roads in the area without any problems.
