Piase (Ash), April 4, GNA - The Piase Roman Catholic Primary and the District Assembly Junior High schools in the Bosomtwe District have taken delivery of 15 computers for their Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre. The computers, which cost GH¢8,000, were donated by Nana Karikari, Nkosuohene, of the town.

Making the presentation Nana Karikari said as an old student of the two schools, he believed it was befitting to donate the computers to them to enhance their learning, especially in ICT. He said as a developing country, there was the need for the privileged in society to learn how to share their wealth with the needy and also complement the government's effort in development. Nana Karikari appealed to the children to develop interest in ICT to enable them be abreast with time and also pave way for job opportunities after their education.

He advised the students to spend quality time to learn instead of watching television, playing video games and others which now compete with reading time and pledged to continue supporting the development of the community.

Nana Osei Gyamerah II, Piasehene, commended the Nkosuohene and appealed to the people in the community to support the development of education by making sure that they send their children to school and make sure they provide them with all their school needs. Mr. Michael Appiagyei, Head teacher of the R/C Primary School who received the computers on behalf of his colleagues, thanked Nana Karikari and appealed to the government to make the school ICT resource centre for the district. He appealed for help to enable the centre to be hooked to the internet.
