Winneba, Dec 3, GNA - Mr Isaac Edumadze, Central Regional Minister, has appealed to District Core Planning Teams to adopt strategies for proper planning, implementation and monitoring of poverty reduction programmes.

He said to achieve this they must ensure that knowledge and skills gained at training workshops are put to good use to accelerate the development of districts.

Mr Edumadze said this in a speech read on his behalf at a five-day workshop on Poverty Profiling and Pro-Poor Programming for Core Planning Officers from Awutu-Efutu-Senya, Agona, Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa and Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam districts, at Winneba.

Mr Edumadze expressed regret at the inability of beneficiaries of such training programmes to make good use of the knowledge and skills imparted to them from time to time.

Nii Teiko Tagoe, Central Regional Director of the Social Investment Fund (SIF), urged district assemblies to ensure that their reports on Poverty Profiling and Pro-Poor Programming plans were submitted to the appropriate quarters by the end of April next year.
