Police MTTU commends motorists for cooperation during inaugural ceremony

The National Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service has expressed its gratitude to motorists and other road users including the media on their exceptional cooperation during the inaugural ceremony for President John Mahama.

A released issued to the Ghana News Agency, signed by the Commanding Officer, MTTU, of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Angwubutoge Awuni, stated that the cooperation of motorists ,road users and the media contributed immensely towards the success of the event.

It said the motoring public through the help of the media observed the road closures and diversions designed to ensure orderliness at the event venue to the admiration of everybody.

“We want to congratulate all those who sacrificed their comfort, especially the elderly, and walked some distance to the event grounds due to the road closures and police operational restrictions for their patriotism”.

The release noted that the Police MTTU had observed this trend in recent high profile and national events and was therefore encouraging all road users to exhibit similar discipline on the roads daily to ensure sanity and also avoid needless road traffic crashes.

“We hope 2013 would be a year for traffic discipline and road safety and this could be achieved”.
