The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested two suspected criminals linked to a high-profile armed robbery and murder case in the region.

According to police, the two suspects were arrested in connection with the robbery of an iPhone 11 and the murder of its owner, 28-year-old Silver Ngozi, at Asokore Mampong.

Addressing the media in a press conference on Monday December 15, 2025, the Ashanti Regional Police Command DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur disclosed that, the suspects have been identified as a 20-year-old motor mechanic, Farouk Iddrisu and Salim Mohamed, 19, a motor mechanic.

“Preliminary investigations show the suspects robbed the deceased and stabbed her in the process, resulting in her death,” police said.

A search conducted by police discovered machetes, knives and other offensive weapons in their rooms.

The Commander disclosed that the suspects have admitted to the operation, identifying the weapon they used in the murder.

He noted that the suspects will soon be arraigned before the court.
