The Director-General In charge of Human Resource of the Ghana Police Service, Deputy Commissioner of Police Alhaji Hamidu Mahama, has appealed to police personnel to consistently display professionalism, adhere to democratic principles and avoid corrupt practices.

DCOP Mahama made the call at the annual WASSA of the Central Regional Police Training School in Winneba at the week-end.

He said in line with the objective to train 2,500 recruits annually and also ensure quality training of recruits as well as the personnel, the Police Administration was making efforts to increase the capacities and facilities of all the six training schools.

DCOP Alhaji Mahama said, in this regard, the Police Administration was grateful to the Paramount Chief of Effutu Traditional Area, Neenyi Ghartey VII, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive Nii Ephraim and the Member of Parliament for Effutu for their efforts that had resulted in the award of contract for the construction of parade square and tarring of the roads to the school.

He said the police service over the years had been plagued with challenges which include insufficient budgetary allocation, inadequate resources and non-availability of logistical support.

DCOP Alhaji Mahama said the Police Administration would accept support from community leaders and stakeholders.**
