Police probe brutal killing of night security guard in Wa

The Upper West Regional Police Command is investigating the murder of 55-year-old Yahaya Issah, popularly called 'Soja.'

His body was discovered on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Wa-Dori.

A report by 3news.com on September 24 said a discovery was made near the new market that showed visible injuries and bloodstains, pointing to a violent crime.

ACP Peter Kamasa, the Deputy Regional Police Commander, confirmed that crime scene experts had been deployed to gather evidence.

The body was transported to the Upper West Regional Hospital Mortuary, where it underwent an autopsy before being released to the family for burial in line with Islamic tradition.

"The Regional Police Command stated that officers had visited the bereaved family in the Dodiyiri community to express their condolences and promise a transparent investigation," the Regional Police Command stated.

The police have promised to pursue justice thoroughly and have asked the public to share any information that might help with the investigation, the report said.

The community is urged to remain calm and vigilant while the police work to apprehend the perpetrators and maintain peace in the area.
