Pramkese (E/R), Aug 17, GNA - A protracted chieftaincy dispute at Pramkese in the Kwaebibirem District has been amicably resolved and a new chief and Abusuapanyin (head of the royal family) outdoored
The resolution of the impasse was made possible through the efforts of the three gates of the royal Aduana clan from Kyebi, Osorase and Pramkese.
The new chief, Barima Ofori Frimpong II, 55, known in private life as Mr Lawrence Ofori Addo, is a Deputy Director of the Department of Social welfare.
The Abusuapanyin is Nana Adu Bempong, a farmer.
Speaking at the ceremony the District Chief Executive, Mr George Agyemang Duah, praised the people of Pramkese for resolving the dispute.
He said development could only thrive where there was peace and expressed the hope that factious in other chieftaincy disputes in the district would see reason and emulate the steps taken by the royals of Pramkese to settle all disputes for the good of the district.
Mr Duah said the assembly would ensure that the town received its fair share of development projects.
On education, he pleaded with parents to assist teachers to raise standards since the standard of education was not the best in the district.
Mr Duah called on the people to rally behind the chief and said the assembly was ready to work with him to bring development to the people.
He appealed to the people to pay their taxes so that the assembly would have sufficient revenue for development projects.
Barima Frimpong said he had come to serve his people and therefore co-operation from them.
He appealed to the people to participate in communal labour and should contribute in cash and in kind for projects that would be planned for the good of the community.
