Akim Oda, Sept. 18, GNA- The Birim South District Director of Education, Mrs Stella Nanor, has said that even though computers are good teaching aids which teachers could use to improve their performance and enhance teaching, they also destroy the moral fibre of the child. She, therefore, appealed to teachers to be careful in the selection of software and give guidance to children in the use of computers.

Mrs Nanor said this when she commissioned a 200-million-cedis computer laboratory for the Victory International School at Akim Oda. Proprietor of the school, Mrs Victoria Dompreh, expressed gratitude to the Institute of Information Communication Technology IICT) for assisting the school to establish the centre.

She said the computer programme covers pupils from Primary two to JSS 3 adding that plans are advanced to extend it down to primary one this year.

The Parent Teacher Association Chairman, Mr Oduro Antwi, appealed to the district assembly to establish more schools at Akim Oda to abolish the shift system.
