Sunyani, Oct. 18, GNA- Presbyterian schools in the Sunyani municipality on Tuesday held a procession through some principal streets of the municipality to mark this year's annual week celebration of Presbyterian education in Ghana.

Under the theme "let us go on maturity" the students, pupils and teachers held placards, which some read "President thank you for capitation", "help our teachers president", "education promotes development" "educate the child for future" among others amidst singing and brass band music.

Reverend Edward Appiah, Sunyani District Pastor of the Presbyterian church advised the students to take their education serious to enable them achieve high academic laurels. "A journey of thousand steps begins with one", he said, and asked the students to live productive lifestyles and concentrate on their books.

Rev. Appiah deplored the negative practices of some students who sneak to town and engage in unhealthy immoral acts at a time they should rather be studying.

He admonished the students to give themselves to Christ and study the Bible carefully to succeed in life. The Reverend Minister expressed regret about the alarming rate of indiscipline that had engulfed society and advised the students to strive hard to eschew such behaviour. Rev. Appiah expressed his appreciation to the government for constructing a three unit classroom block for the Boahen Korkor basic school.

He appealed for assistance towards an 18 unit classroom block the church intends to construct to help facilitate effective teaching and learning.
