Presbyterian pastor dies in motor accident

Agogoso (Ash), Aug 19, GNA - The Presbyterian Minister in charge of the Sefwi-Asawinso Circuit on Tuesday died in a car crash at Agogoso near Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua District.

The Reverend Kennedy Berko, 70, was driving from Kumasi to Asawinso when his Opel Astra saloon car with registration number GT 1102 U collided head-on with another vehicle.

Three other passengers, who were travelling with him and the driver of the other vehicle, identified as Abdul Rahman, sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

Police Superintendent Samuel Aloredey, the Nyinahin District Commander told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the accident happened at about 2100 hours.

The body of the Pastor, he said, has been deposited at the Bibiani Government Hospital.
