Presidential aspirant donates food items to National Chief Imam

Alhaji Nurudeen Iddrisu, one of the Presidential aspirants of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has donated food items to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu to support their month-long fast.

The items were two cartons each of milk and Milo, 10 cartons of bottled water, four bags of rice, two gallons of oil, and one bag of sugar.

Alhaji Iddrissu in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the donation was in fulfilment of his mission of reaching out to Muslims and appealed to them to emerge from the Ramadan fast with peace, unity and commitment to nation-building.

He said: “I am committed to caring for the poor people in society, share equal concern and commitment to ensure that the needy are well catered for.”

He said the occasion was also to formally declare his intention to the Chief Imam of contesting the flagbearer position of the NDC.

“Very soon I will lay my vision bare to show why I have to be considered for the position,” he said.

Alhaji Sharubutu appealed to Muslims to use the period of the Ramadan to pray for the peace of the country and expressed gratitude to Alhaji Iddrissu for the gesture and said it would enable them to go through the fast peacefully.
