Nsawam, Nov 1, GNA - Nana Akua Okyerewa, Queen mother of Aburi-Nsakye, who is also the Presiding Member of the Akwapim South District Assembly at the weekend called on chiefs, opinion leaders and philanthropists to contribute towards education in the country. Nana Akua Okyerewa made the call at the weekend when she commissioned a poly tank water reservoir for the Akwapim South District Assembly Kindergarten at Nsawam.
Nana Okyerewa said the donation was her personal gift towards the development of education in the District and appealed to parents and guardians to send their children to school.
She described education as the best legacy parents could give to their children to enable them to grow to become good future leaders. Nana Okyerewa urged parents to take good care of their children and to provide them with basic learning materials.
She advised children to be obedient and to ensure clean environment. Mrs Akosua Adu, District Director of Education, commended the Presiding Member for her attention to education in the District and called on others to emulate her.
