Prof. Delle pledges affordable medical care for rural communities

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in charge of Rabito Clinic, Prof. Edmund N. Delle has disclosed his outfit determination to provide affordable medical care to rural communities.





According to him, Rabito clinic is one of the few private clinics poised to provide inexpensive medication to deprived communities in Ghana.




“Under no justifiable reason can we sideline rural areas in the country when it comes to quality health care delivery”, he explained.





He further added, “We should bear in mind that due to their deplorable state most people in deprived communities are prone to all kinds of ailments”.


Prof. Delle who is into hair, nails and skin related diseases made the disclosure during the inauguration of GHC 520,000.00 permanent health facility for Rabito Clinic, Sunyani Branch.

The 50 bed capacity clinic is expected to cater for residents within Sunyani Municipality and her immediate environs.


The renowned dermatologist, appealed to fellow medical practitioners to desist from centralizing their operations within urban communities in Ghana.


Prof. Delle reiterated that Rabito Clinic has never rendered cost class medical service within its decades of medical services to Ghanaians and will never do that.


He opined that, 70%-80% of populates within least developed communities in Ghana have skin related sicknesses and should be given the expected support.


On his part, the Paramount Chief of Sunyani Traditional Area, Nana Bosomah Asor Nkrawie called on private healthcare providers operating in the Sunyani Municipality and its immediate environs to endeavour to provide affordable services.

According to the paramount chief, the effort of the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital alone cannot help handle the numerous health challenges facing the Region hence the need for accredited private facilities to intervene.


The Paramount Chief stated categorically that, the official opening of Rabito Clinic will help relief the huge burden on the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital.


Mr. Samuel Addo who deputized for the Sunyani Municipal Health Director, revealed that Rabito Clinic has come at the right time because currently the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital is the only medical facility with specialized medical services.


He appealed to the management of Rabito Clinic to operate within approved regulations that have been spelt out by the Brong Ahafo Regional Health Directorate.


In his dedication message, Msgr. George Kumi who represented the Most Rev. Mathew Kwasi Gyamfi, Bishop of Sunyani Diocese of the Catholic Church stressed the need for Rabito Clinic to render selfless services to the residents of Sunyani and its immediate environs.

Later, the Paramount Chief of Sunyani Traditional Area, flanked by Prof. Delle, Nana Yaa Nyamaah Puduo II, queen mother of Sunyani Traditional Area and a host of other dignitaries cut the tape to officially open the new building.
