Projects inaugurated in Asutifi North

Gambia No.1 (B/A), May 6, GNA- Mr Paul Okoh, Member of Parliament for Asutifi North in the Brong Ahafo Region has cut the sod to commission a 274 million cedis six- classroom block for the Gambia Number One Local Authority Primary School in the Constituency. The project has an office and a store and was constructed with funds from the Social Investment Fund (SIF) with the Gambia Number One Community contributing 10 per cent of the total cost.

Mr Okoh said Government was committed to deliver on its campaign promises adding that education still remains one of the key areas to be fully explored to ensure increased accessibility and quality delivery. He appealed to parents in the community to send all children including the disabled to school.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Officer for the Social Investment Fund, Mr. Forster Kwame Boateng commended the communal spirit of the people of Gambia Number One and urged other beneficiary communities to emulate them.

Mr. Michael Nsiah Agyapong, Asutifi District Chief Executive noted that the project has come at an opportune time to help the school. The District Director of Education Mr. Yaw Manu Yeboah pledged to use his offices to ensure that the structure is used with care and discipline.

Nana Karikari Akyimpong, Chief of the town commended the self-help spirit of the people and urged Ghanaians to reciprocate the gesture in the 2004 elections.
