Founder of the House of Divine Glory Church, Prophet Jimmy Alla-Mensah, has reacted to Friday’s major industrial fire at the Charkieh Plastics Factory site at Weija Junction, urging continued prayer and vigilance for the Greater Accra Region following the incident.

The blaze, which erupted earlier on November 22, 2025 triggered a large-scale response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). Fire crews from seven stations, including Weija, Kasoa, Anyaa, Circle, Industrial Area, Dansoman, and the National Headquarters, were deployed to contain the inferno.

The burning of plastic materials produced dense, toxic smoke, forcing firefighters to operate with specialised breathing apparatus as they worked to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby structures.

No casualties have been reported as firefighters continue battling the blaze under extremely hazardous conditions. Authorities have advised the public to steer clear of the Weija Junction area to allow emergency services full access.

In a Facebook post following the outbreak, Prophet Alla-Mensah referenced a prophetic warning he released on November 18, 2025, concerning a “fiery arrows attack” in the Accra area, noting that such visions may manifest anywhere within the region.

“By God’s mercy, the exact target was diverted, but the manifestation still occurred within the same region,” he wrote, adding that the absence of fatalities was “to the glory of God.”

The U.S.-based Ghanaian preacher extended prayers for continued protection over the city.

“We must continue to cover the city with prayer until no programmed fire manifests again,” his statement read.

Friday’s incident highlights the dangers associated with industrial fires involving plastics, which burn hotter and faster and produce toxic emissions that complicate containment efforts. Fire crews remain on the scene as investigations into the cause of the blaze continue.
