Pru District Made progress

as It Releases GHC 1, 075, 947.28 For Managerial activities

The Pru District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme (PDMHIS) at the commencement of this year (2010) released an amount OF GHC 1, 075, 947.28 to cater for proactive managerial expenses. Hierarchically, the stipulated amount was sub-divided to cater for five different areas, namely processing fee-GHC 40, 847.24, premium –GHC 24,224.74 and reinsurance 481,891.86. The rest are subsidy-526, 419.19 and other income 2,564.25.

The outflows for the said period are: administration expenditure GHC 76,986.36, claims expenditure GHC1, 003,071.09. The outflow combine is sum up to GHC 1, 080, 57.45.

This was divulged by the Scheme manager in charge of PDMHIS, Mr. Abass Sagoe Alhassans during a mid-year regional meeting held at Sunyani, the Regional capital. The mid-meeting year meeting attracted the all the six municipalities and 13 the districts in the region.

The Scheme manger told the mammoth crowd that his outfit has put in place a number of structures in order to attract more persons to the scheme.

Recounting the numerous achievements of PDMHIS Mr. Sagoe stated categorically that the scheme has so far renewed and registered an encouraging number of populace in the district , adding that claims have been paid up to May, 2010 and GHC 5000 as part payment for June 2010 to one of the health providers , i.e. Abase health centre.

Still on the Achievements, the scheme manager added that the scheme has been able to achieve a 100% vetting of claims for the period under review.

Mr. Abass took the opportunity to thank the Regional manager and the National Health Insurance Authority for contributing about 90 percent of these amount to carry out the managerial activities of the district which enhance quality health care in the district.

On his part, the Brong Ahafo Regional Scheme manger, Mr. Foster Adjei Koran described the PDMHIS report as one of the best. He further urged them to keep on with their hard work for the benefit of posterity.
