Public and civil servants advised to adapt to change

Wassa-Akropong (W/R), May 15, GNA - Public and civil servants have been advised to adapt to every change that would keep the wheel of development in focus to ensure steady socio-economic growth. Kasapreko Kwame Basanyin III, Omanhene of Wassa Amenfi, noted that since effective implementation of Government policies and programmes depended largely on public and civil servants, they must exhibit high sense of loyalty and hard work all the times.

These were contained in an address read for him at a send-off party organised by the Wassa Amenfi East District Assembly in honour of Mr George Addo, the outgoing District Coordinating Director.

Mr Addo, who is said to be the brain behind the achievements of the District Assembly, which is one of the newly created districts in the country is on transfer to the Office of the Senior Minister.

Kasapreko Kwame Basanyin said, "Change comes at specific times and when such change is needed and it comes with a purpose", therefore, it must not be regarded as a form of punishment or for evil motive.

Madam Doris Gyapomah Oduro, the District Chief Executive, lauded Mr Addo's commitment, dedication, hard work and pioneering role during the planning and implementation of the Assembly's medium term development programme.

She said even though the Assembly is a new one, it could boast of been one of the best in terms of infrastructure development. Mr John Appiah, the Presiding Member of the Assembly said the people would forever remember the good works of Mr Addo.

Mr Addo thanked the people, particularly the Omanhene and his elders for their love and support during his tenure and hoped this would be extended to Alhaji Jacktal Mohammed Hardi, as the incoming coordinating director was introduced at the function.

It was attended by a large number of people including assembly members and heads of government departments.
