Pupils pick prizes for achieving excellence

Eight private school pupils in Jomoro District who emerged 2014 over all champions in English Reading and Comprehension competition for basic schools in the area have been honoured by the Assembly.

Also honoured were 48 others from both private and public basic school pupils in the area who won the competition in their circuits early last year and competed in the final last October.

They are Emanuella Ako Ngetiah and Ruth Adwoah Armoh, both of Jesus Never Fails Preparatory, Desmark Oppong Adjei, Seventh Day Adventist Preparatory, Anars Abdulrahman, New Generation Complexand Anthony Sam, John Wesley Preparatory schools all of Elubo.

The rest are Maame Awua-Cobbinah Mokoah, Morden EducationalComplex, Bonyere Junction, Inock Egyin Mensah, Psalms Preparatory Schools, Tikobo Number One and Naa Ayele Andoh, Christian Accademy, Half-Assini.

They each received books and certificates.

The District Education Directorate in collaboration with the Assembly has been organising the programme for the past seven years to award pupils in the area in its quest to promote quality education in the District.

Four other students in the District made up of two males and two females who excelled in last year’s BECE and WASSCE were also honoured at the ceremony.

They are Evans Gyedu Blay, Florence Blay, both of Half-Assini Senior High School who took Gh¢400.00 plus a certificate each and Theophilus Boakye of Allengenzulley D/A JHS and Esther Atulley of Elubo Catholic JHS who also took Gh¢200.00 and a certificate each.
