RAINSTORM DAMAGES PROPERTY AT DOMIABRA.

A rainstorm which hit Domiabra in the Ga District damaged buildings and property estimated at c30 million.

The people of Domiabra, a farming village with a population of 1,300 people were living by the banks of River Densu but they were resettled at Domiabra near Kasoa following the construction of the Weija Dam.


Fifty-six buildings were damaged. The displaced persons are now living with relatives.

The Ga District Chief Executive, Mr Abed Kwakye Owusu, the presiding member, Nii Amase Oseiku and the assembly member of the area, Mr Paul Kofi, had visited the area to assess the damage and to express their sympathy and that of the government to the people.


The Ga District Assembly has donated an unspecified number of bundles of roofing sheets and bags of cement to the queen- mother of the village, Naa Akunsa, for the rehabilitation of some of the damage houses.
