Osino (E/R), July 14, GNA - Rainstorm ripped off the roofs of a three-unit classroom block of the Akim Asamama Day-Care Centre in the Atiwa District at the weekend following a downpour. Mr Paul Abeam Danso, Head Teacher of the local Presby Primary School, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the affected pupils have been moved to the upper primary of the academic facility. He appealed to the District Assembly to assist the school to fix the damage to allow normal academic work to continue. In a related development a rainstorm, which hit Begoro Township had destroyed a number of farms. Mr Yiadom Akosa, a chief farmer, told the GNA that large hectares of tomatoes were destroyed. He said the disaster would affect farmers who had contracted loans from the banks for their farming ventures.
