Re-package your messages -Bishop tells politicians

Bonkrong (Ash), May 25, GNA - Politicians have been called upon to re-package their campaign messages to meet the aspirations of the electorate, since they will be judged by their promises. The Right Reverend Samuel Agyeman Kwakye, Methodist Bishop of the Effiduase diocese, who made the call, said, this is because Ghanaians had progressed beyond the era of mere political propaganda and needed to be treated as such by politicians.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying for the 100 million-cedi Ebenezer Methodist Church at Bonkrong near Asante-Mampong last Sunday, Bishop Kwakye pointed out that lies festered dissatisfaction, whilst truth promoted peace and development.

He therefore asked politicians to uphold the truth at all times and also urged Ghanaians to be united more than ever before to stem the resurgence of hatred due to divergent political views. Bishop Kwakye noted that, since all political parties had the same agenda to develop the country but only differed in their approach, it was important for all to rally behind any party that won the elections genuinely in December for the development of the country.

He commended the Bonkrong church, whose membership had risen from five to 160 due to their evangelism spirit and asked for God's answers to the prayers and supplications of his servants.

Nana Kwaku Owusu II, Bonkronghene, encouraged parents to ensure a balanced physical and spiritual development of their children so as to become national assets.

He announced incentives and undisclosed package for teachers who render dedicated service to their schools and students who distinguished themselves in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
