Regent of Lawra visits Oseadeeyo

Techiman (B/A) Dec. 8. GNA - Pastor Charles T. Karbo, regent of Lawra traditional area has paid a visit to Techiman to express appreciation for the solidarity shown by Oseadeeyo Akumfi- Ameyaw, Omanhene of Techiman traditional area on the demise of Naa Abeifah Karbo, Paramount Chief of Lawra.

He was accompanied by sub-chiefs and members of the Council of Elders, including Naa Suanta, Dagaba Naa in Kumasi and Bogr Yirdem. The visit was also in recognition of the participation of the Omanhene and the Techiman traditional authorities in the Lawra Naa's funeral.

Pastor Karbo thanked the Techiman traditional council for the cordial relationship existing between the late Lawra Naa and the people of Techiman.

He appealed to the Techiman Municipal Assembly and the Traditional Council to allocate a permanent plot at the Central Market for those who sell Pito and are often ejected after acquiring the place temporarily.

Pastor Karbo assured the traditional chiefs of the peaceful co-existence among the kingmakers in Lawra towards getting a successor to Naa Abeifah Karbo.

Oseadeyo Akumfi-Ameyaw noted that the causes of famine were many and varied but the predominant factor for its emergence in some parts of the world was the eruption of senseless wars. The Omanhene called on the regent and elders of Lawra communities in the municipality to be law-abiding and to remain united to be able to contribute meaningfully to the d evelopment of their hometowns, the municipality and the nation.

He stressed that maintaining unity, peace and cordial relationship with each other should be the concern of all individuals in the municipality and the country as a whole.

Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw urged the regent to respect the elders as he took care of the regalia of the late Chief pending the selection and installation of a successor.
