Sikaa (B/A) March 16, GNA - Mr. Kwaku Baffoe-Adamu, Assembly Member for Sikaa in Nkoranza District of Brong Ahafo has urged eligible persons in the area to register their names so they could exercise their franchise during the December and future elections.
Briefing the people at a meeting on proceedings at the District Assembly's recent meeting, he emphasized that it was only through the registration that they could make their choice during elections. The Assembly Member advised the youth to guard against negative practices that could mar the impending general election and urged them to desist from violent acts during the electioneering campaigns.
Mr. Baffoe-Adamu urged the people to honour their tax obligations to generate enough revenue to enable the District Assembly to initiate and complete more development programmes.
He appealed to non-resident citizens of the area to visit home to offer support for on-going development projects for an improvement in the living standards of the people.
The Assembly Member expressed gratitude to the District Assembly for constructing two boreholes for the community called on the people to pay their individual levies for the maintenance of the boreholes.
Mr Baffoe-Adamu appealed to the Assembly to consider the deplorable state of the local Junior Secondary School building and help rehabilitate it to enhance teaching and learning.
