Bekwai (Ash), May 11, GNA - An urgent appeal has gone to the Amansie East District Assembly in the Ashanti Region to rehabilitate the Bekwai Anglican Primary School and its kindergarten blocks. The roofs of the two kindergarten classrooms are badly leaking and this would affecting the children in their classroom work as the rains are now setting in, hence the call for immediate repair work on them.

Venerable John Kingsley Mensah, the Archdeacon of the Bekwai Archdeaconry of the Anglican Church, made the appeal, when the Amansie West Rural Bank donated a cheque of 2.675 cedis for the rehabilitation of the primary one classroom of the school.

The Archdeacon said the Anglican JSS had seven computers locked up at his office without the students benefiting due to lack of suitable classroom for their installation and renewed his call to the assembly for assistance.

Venerable Mensah commended the bank for donating the money and appealed to other banks operating at Bekwai to come to the aid of the school.

He said the bank had so far spent 33 million cedis on scholarships for needy but brilliant students in the area.

"Ten students have been receiving scholarships annually for the past three years", Akora Donkor said.

He used the occasion to announce "Adwumapa Nkosuo" product of the bank and appealed to women especially, to form co-operatives so that they could access funds from the bank to improve their small businesses.
