Residents loot burnt motor assembling plant during fire disaster

Some unscrupulous persons who stormed the offices of LK International Company Limited in the wake of last Sunday’s fire disaster under the guise of helping them salvage some property, ended up looting spare parts of the motor assembling plant.

One of the stores which was not immediately gutted by the inferno, was opened by officials of the company who solicited the support of volunteers to help them cart the items onto a truck to be transported to a safer location.

But some criminally-minded individuals under the guise of helping, rather carried the boxes and headed towards different locations amidst shouts from staff who wondered why they were taking advantage of the situation to steal.

It Is not known how many of such items were stolen from the stores of the company my these miscreants according to Manager Jack Ke confirmed that in the midst of their sorrow some items that were not affected by their fire had also been stolen by these unknown individuals.

It would be recalled that over 45 tricycles were burnt beyond recognition after fire caused by bush fire gutted the Gumani-based assembling plant within the Tamale metropolis

Several other properties estimated at hundreds of thousands of Ghana cedis were also destroyed.

It took 3 fire tenders close to two hours to bring the inferno under control by which most engines and trucks had completely been burnt.
