Rev. Minister suggests "singing" as a core subject

Nsawam (E/R), July 5, GNA - A Reverend Minister has appealed to public and private institutions to include "singing" in their syllabus. Rev. Charles Kobina Soso, General Overseer of the Christ Resurrection Church directed that singing should not be a mere song, but hymns, songs of praises and inspirations, patriotic and native songs. He said, when "this appeal is adhered to, we would have a far-reaching result in the transformation of society."

Rev. Soso made the appeal when he inaugurated the Christ Resurrection Church Choir and dedicated the choir robes and musical instruments, at Nsawam in the Eastern Region on Sunday. In his inaugural address, Rev. Soso stressed that the robes estimated at four million cedis, was a gesture from Mrs. Diana Soga, a member of the Church, based in Canada.

He said it was in fulfilment of her promise to contribute towards the progress of the Church.

Rev. Joseph Emmanuel Mensah, Accra District Pastor of the Church and in-charge of the Nsawam branch, said the branch started as a small group in 1988 as "Resurrection Bird" but it collapsed and was revived in 1994.

The co-chairpersons, Mrs. Florence Dogbey and Mrs. Josephine Ankrah, from the Bank of Ghana and the Koforidua office of the Ghana Commercial Bank respectively, called on the youth, especially the girl-child, to endeavour to live an upright life, to avoid branding them as agents of destruction.
