Kumasi, July 8, GNA - Ghanaian youth have been urged to seek knowledge and wisdom in order to enrich their future potentials. The Reverend Jonathan Buernorty Kudijordji of the Tarkwa branch of the House Faith Ministries, who made the call, said most youth did things anyhow and failed at the end because they had failed to explore the knowledge-based opportunities available to them. He was speaking at the launch of a new book entitled, "Post SSS Education institutions in Ghana" authored by Mr Alexander Afriyie, a Historian and Journalist in Kumasi.
The book contains the names and locations of 170 tertiary institutions in Ghana with their general requirements, departmental as well as individual requirements. It also captures the websites, telephone numbers, time of sale of forms and admissions of these institutions. Rev. Kudijordji advised the youth to always seek guidance in any venture they undertook and made good use of every opportunity that came their way, adding that, "life is full of potentials and challenges but one needs knowledge in order to over come the challenge". Mr Afriyie, the author said the book aimed at alleviating some of the difficulties SSS leavers faced when they were applying for admission into tertiary institutions.
He observed that, sometimes candidates with high aggregates failed to get admission into certain courses, while those with low aggregates were admitted and said these problems came about due to wrong selection of courses, which at times did not go with their SSS courses. Mr Afriyie hoped the book would meet the information needs of all applicants to the nation's tertiary institutions.
