The Campaign train of the Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Essikado-Ketan Constituency in the western region, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah has stopped at Kojokrom, one of the populous communities in the constituency where she was given a rousing welcome by the market women.

The rousing welcome offered the NDC Parliamentary candidate, a Neurosurgeon by profession goes to tell the increasing popularity of the woman who political pundits believe she has the wherewithal to unseat the current MP of the area, Joe Ghartey who has served as Legislator for the constituency for the last sixteen years.

The campaign strategy adopted by the NDC PC who has dedicated her life to offering free medical outreach programmes through her Non-governmental Organization even before she conceived the idea to contest the constituency seat on the ticket of the opposition party is said to be giving sleepless night to the sitting MP who has dedicated his time responding to the NDC PC campaign messages.

In one of the NDC PC campaign message, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah is asking the electorate of the constituency to show the incumbent MP the exit because he has wasted sixteen years as a Legislator with no proven track record to show in the area of development for the people of the constituency.

Exactly 74 hours after the NDC PC fired the sitting MP, Joe Ghartey came out to respond denying that he has failed as a Legislator to champion the interest of the constituency in the area of development.

But considering the campaign strategy of the NDC PC who has been touring the nook and cranny of the constituency arguing why the electorates needed to ‘drop’ the sitting MP and try her as a Neurosurgeon, Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah campaign took her to Kojokrom where she interacted with market women.

At an interaction section with the Kojokrom market women, everything pointed to the fact that the market women have bought the message of the candidate considering the responses offered her (Grace Ayensu) by the market women.

The market women who were happy the NDC PC had visited them to sell her message were pleased with the message to try her as well.

One market woman who openly declared that she was a strong member of the ruling party openly told the interaction that she was moved by the message of the NDC candidate.

For this reason, the candidate has her support and that of her family. ‘I promise you that for coming here is an indication that you mean business and we will help you to achieve your aspiration’.

Another woman also owned up applauding Dr. Grace Ayensu on her academic laurels. ‘You have shown that what men can do women can equally do it and do it better. As a woman, I know you have affection and compassion and we promise you our support’.

Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu earlier addressing the market women said she was offering her service to the constituency because she believed she could contribute her quota to the development of the constituency.

She said Essikado-Ketan lacked behind development and this has become so because the Legislator who had represented the constituency for the last sixteen ears has failed to champion the interest and welfare of the constituency.

For this reason, it was important as women they help her in her campaign to push her to succeed in her aspiration to serve as a Legislator for the constituency.

After the interaction section, Prof. Dr. race Ayensu-Danquah walked up to the sheds of other market women one after the other to speak directly to them.
