Rt. Rev. Quashie enthroned Second Anglican Bishop of K'dua

Koforidua, Dec. 7, GNA- The enthroned Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church, Rt. Rev. Francis Benjamin Quashie, has called on Anglicans in the country to abandon their contempt with the small seize of the Church and embark on an aggressive evangelism to increase the seize of the church.

He said the refusal of any Church to embark on evangelism is a disrespect to the great commission given by Christ to the Church.

Rt. Rev. Quashie, 57, was delivering his first sermon after his enthronement at the Koforidua St, Peter's Anglican Cathedral on Saturday.

Rt. Rev. Quashie was elected Bishop of the Diocese by the Diocesan Synod in September, 2002 and consecrated as Coadjutor to his predecessor , the Most Rev. Robert G. A. Okine, who retired as the first Bishop of the Diocese from December 1, 2003 after 22 years of service.

He called on Christians to use their daily work as means of evangelism by doing their work so well that people who benefit from their service would be won over to join their faith.

Rt. Rev. Quashie said it is his desire to turn the Diocese into a prayerful Diocese by promoting Bible sturdy and prayer programmes and urged all members of the clergy and laity to continue to offer prayers for the Diocese , the country and the world at large.

He promise to use his time to create the environment that would enable all members of the church to realise their ministry in the church and promised to be the servant of the Diocese and urged the congregation to continue to pray for him.

"I would not like to be judge as a successful Bishop but a Bishop who had been faithful to his calling and to God" Bishop Quashie observed.

Rt. Rev. Quashie was ordained as a priest in 1976 and holds his Master's Decree in Theology from Atlantic School of Theology, Canada.
