Kagyase (Ash), Sept 21, GNA- Four estate houses constructed by the State Housing Company (SHC) at Kagyase near Kumasi for the Ghana Police Service was on Tuesday handed over to the Service.
The project formed part of the nine estate houses and a guesthouse estimated at over three billion cedis being constructed for the Police Service by the government.
Mr Stephen Mark Gennuh, Ashanti Regional Zonal Director of the SHC, at a handing over ceremony, said the remaining six houses under construction are at various stages of completion.
He extended his gratitude and appreciation to the Police Service for awarding the contract to the company.
Mr Fosu-Mensah Gyeabour, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, who received the keys to the houses, thanked the government for his concern to address the accommodation problem facing the Service.
He appealed to the police personnel to work harder to ensure peace, tranquillity and respect for law and order in the country.
"The good people of Ghana deserve the best services from the Police Service and we have the duty to give value for the money that the government is spending to improve upon our service conditions", he added.
Mr Gyeabour appealed to the police officers who would occupy the houses to take good care of them to ensure longer life span. He said similar projects are being undertaken in all the 10 regions of the country.
