Nyinahin (Ash), Nov. 2, GNA - Miss Irene Comfort Badu, Assistant Director of Education in-charge of Early Childhood Development at the Atwima District Education office, has urged School Management Committees (SMCs) to be transparent in their financial management to win the confidence of donors.
She urged them to prepare quarterly budgets for their schools and also liaise effectively with the district education offices to promptly solve problems that may affect effective education delivery.
Miss Badu was speaking at the close of a four-day workshop organised for SMCs and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) at Nyinahin in the Atwima district last Thursday.
Forty-eight participants selected from Nyinahin Saint Paul's Basic School, Nyinahin Primary "D", Islamic school, Kyekyewere and Adupri Basic Schools, attended the workshop, which was organised throughout the district in clusters.
It was organised by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with QUIPS/CSA for all SMCs and PTAs throughout the country. Miss Badu said the government alone cannot provide all the needed infrastructure and other facilities to enhance educational delivery and called on all stakeholders to offer their maximum support.
Mr Joseph Ampong, Barekese circuit supervisor, asked the participants to embark on intensive enrolment and retention drive especially among the girl children.
Mr Ampong, who was a resource person, also urged the SMCs and PTAs to intensify the education awareness creation to enable stakeholders to live up to their responsibilities.
Mr. Sampson Mensah, the Kyekyewere SMC chairman, who excelled at the workshop, was selected to represent the area at the Atwima district conference of SMCs and PTAs.
