Kumasi, March 9, GNA - The Saint Paul's Catholic Students Association at Amakom, Kumasi has donated a number of items valued more than 2.7 million cedis in support of the upkeep of children at the Kumasi Children's home.

These included two bags of Gari, six boxes of Apino soap, edible oil, 200 rubber plates, two cartons of milk, fruit drinks and used clothing.

Making the presentation, Mr Joseph Agyekum, Chairman of the Association said it was their contribution towards helping to meet some of the needs of the Home.

He said as a Christian organisation, they felt obliged to assist to make life a bit comfortable for the needy and the socially disadvantaged in society.

Madam Beatrice Osei-Assibey, a Child Welfare Officer at the Home said they were grateful to the students for the gesture and appealed to other organisations, individuals and groups to emulate their example. Meanwhile, the Association has provided 40 dual desks and connected pipe-borne water to the Amakom Saint Paul's Catholic primary and Junior Secondary School at a total cost of three million cedis. The Association is made up of all past students of the school.
