Kasoa (C/R), April 21, GNA-Teachers of the Rock Academy School at Kasoa in the Central Region have been given various awards by the authorities of the school for their hard work and dedication. The awards included, a television sets, sewing machines, wax prints and certificates.
The presentation formed part of the activities marking the 10th anniversary celebration of the school, which took place at Kasoa on Tuesday.
Speaking at the function, Mr Dauglas Adjei, Headmaster of the school, expressed the hope that the incentive would encourage the teachers to work harder to raise the standard of education among children of the school.
He announced that the school, which was established some 14 years ago with only a handful of children can now boast of 500 students. He said management of the school have acquired four acres of land in the area for the construction of new and permanent structures to promote its operations.
Mr Adjei expressed satisfaction at the co-operation and support of parents and guardians of children of the school and called for more improvement in parent/teacher association relations in the years ahead. He appealed to the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly and the District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to support the school with funds and building materials to facilitate the implementation of projects initiated by the management of the institution.
