Gomoa Fetteh (C/R) Mar. 9 GNA- The Gomoa District Chief Executive, Madam Joyce Aidoo on Tuesday inaugurated a six-classroom block comprising an office, store and library at the cost of 387 million cedis at Gomoa Fetteh

The Gomoa District Assembly, under the Social Investment Fund (SIF), constructed the project.

Commissioning the project, the DCE urged teachers to get involved in the education against the spread of HIV/AIDS pandemic to reduce it prevalence rate in the country.

She said it was when the spread rate of the disease reduces that the government could channel huge sum of money being spent on programmes and drugs into development projects and the provision of educational facilities.

The DCE called on the people to put the building to good use and also enrol their children of school-going age to reciprocate the huge amount of money spent by the government on the project.

Mrs. Aidoo urged parents and guardians to provide their wards with their schools needs, adding that the best legacy that they could give to their children is education.

The DCE said the district education directorate had taken delivery of 1500 dual desks for distribution to school in the district. The head teacher of the school, Mr. Samuel Kobina Sekyi, appealed to the Gomoa District Assembly to connect electricity to the school to enable the children to have access to computer education.

He commended the government for the provision of the facility and promised that teachers in the area would participate the campaign against the spread of AIDS.
