School children improves sanitation at Breman Asikuma

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Oct. 26, GNA - About 200 youth of the Breman Asikuma Church of Christ International School has undertaken a massive clean-up exercise to help improve sanitation in the town. They disilted gutters, swept and weeded weedy areas around the new market and the District Assembly. Other areas were the court premises and Our Lady of Grace Hospital.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency later after the exercise, Madam Sophia Christiana Essel, Administrative Officer of the School said, as part of activities to mark the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the school a number programmes has been drawn. They include lectures and film show on HIV/AIDS, inter-houses debates on the importance of boys and girls development, violence against women and children and sports.

She said the school, which was established in 1995 with 15 children, now has a total population of 820 and had acquired a 30-acre plot for the construction of a permanent structure from kindergarten to JSS. Madam Essel said the First Lady, Madam Theresa Kufuor, had been invited as the guest of honour at a durbar to round off the anniversary programme next Saturday.
