The Sekyere Rural Bank has provided office equipment and an amount of GH¢ 12,000, to the Police Station at Boanim in the Sekyere South District, to boost its operations.
The items included swivel chairs, tables, ceiling fans and water-closet (WCs) fittings.
Mr. Kwadwo Obese-Antwi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) the bank, said the presentation demonstrated the bank's commitment to its corporate social responsibilities.
“Rural banks are not there purposely to make profit, but to support its catchment communities’ development to improve the welfare of the people,” he added.
Mr. Obese-Antwi appealed to the people to continue to do business with the bank, so that enough profits could be raised to support more socio-economic development projects in the area.
Mr. Joseph Sarfo-Adjei, Board Chairman of the bank, expressed the hope that the donation would aid them to work effectively to enhance security in the area.
Mr. Edward Kusi Ayarkwa, the District Chief Executive (DCE), said the government was committed to ensuring peace and tranquility and needed the support of all.
He thanked the bank for the gift, and hoped it would continue to lend the necessary support to help develop the area.
