Seven assemblymen donate to Kumasi Children's Home

Kumasi, Jan 3, GNA - Seven assembly members in the Kumasi metropolis have made a joint donation of a number of items and one million-cedi cash to the inmates of the Kumasi Children's Home. The items included a bag of rice, gallons of cooking oil, soft drinks, carton of key bar soap and confectionaries.

The donors are Messrs Eric Adusei, Charles Kwabena Poku, Charles Oduro-Acheampong and Nana Yaw Wiredu, assembly members for Asokwa Extension, Ahinsan, Kaase and Ahinsan Estate respectively. The rests are Messrs James Dadie, Agyaaku Amponsah and Nana Attakora Amaniampong, assembly men for New Atonsu, New Asokwa and New Agogo respectively.

Making the presentation on behalf of the donors in Kumasi on Tuesday, Nana Wiredu explained that the joint donation forms part of moves to foster unity among the assembly members. He said as they are all newly-elected assembly members, they had resolved to brainstorm with the view to embarking on joint programmes and ventures aimed at improving the standard of living of their electorates. Mrs Beatrice Osei-Assibey, a staff of the Home, who received the items, thanked the donors for the kind gesture and gave the assurance that the items would be put to good use.
