Seven persons, including 87-year-old woman, narrowly escaped death on Wednesday, November 26 when the bus of the School of Hygiene in Ho rammed a building.

Six persons were working in the building which happens to be the office of the famous Ray Makosa Photo Electronics and Soundz while the old lady was sitting behind the porch adjoining the office.

One of the lucky persons, Eugene Opoku, a photographer told DAILY GUIDE that he was shocked by the incident.

The accident happened at about 12 noon, which attracted many residents to the scene, who were full of praise for God for saving the lives of the seven persons, especially the old woman.

The driver of bus with registration number, GV 2367 14 was returning from Taviefe after transporting students to undertake some public education assignment.

According to reports, the car developed a break failure and hit a taxi cab crashing into a traffic light, the ‘Stop and Pick’ Boutique Shop and subsequently the Ray Makosa Shop.

Eric Amoako, an eyewitness, who was equally stunned by the incident, noted that “God is very great” and commended the driver of the school bus for his smartness in averting what could have been a major accident.

Eric said he was walking on the pavement from the old Barclays Bank building towards the Ray Makosa traffic light when the incident happened.

He said the bus, which was full of students of the school of hygiene, was moving in the opposite direction (OLA TOP road) towards the Ray Makosa Traffic Light.

The driver of bus overtook the vehicles ahead of him.

According to him, the driver lost control of the vehicle after a break failure.

The drivers of the vehicles were unhurt and the over 120 students escaped through the windows.

Personnel of the Ghana national Fire Service (GNFS) and the Motto Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Regional Police Command moved to the scene after 30 minutes to clear the area and assess the extent of damage.
