Shareholders of rural banks to get orientation periodically

Awutu-Beraku (C/R), Oct. 8, GNA - Shareholders of Rural and Community Banks are to be given periodic orientation by the ARB Apex bank to enable them play their roles properly and effectively. This is to ensure that they complement the work of Board of Directors of the banks.

Dr. Samuel Duffu, National Chairman of the ARB Apex Bank, addressing workers, directors and shareholders of the Awutu-Emasa Rural Bank at Awutu-Beraku in the Central Region, said directors and management of the ARB Apex Bank would implement training programmes initiated to ensure sound, efficient and effective operation of the banks.

He called on shareholders, directors and workers of the banks to co-operate to ensure the successful execution of the programmes to enable people in rural communities to develop greater interest in saving with the banks.

Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Larbie, Chairman of the Awutu-Emasa Rural Bank, commended the Apex Bank to train the shareholders and said the training would enable the shareholders to understand the work of the banks and appreciate the role expected from them.

Mr John Kofi Anomah, Manager of the Bank, assured the directors and management of the ARB Apex bank that the shareholders would be informed to prepare for the orientation.

A number of shareholders interviewed after the meeting thanked the ARB Apex bank for the decision and expressed the hope that the programme would be implemented soon.
