Funsi, Aug 30, GNA - A minority Member of Parliament has appealed to the electorate in the 28 new districts not to allow the creation of the new district influence the way they would vote in December. Rather, they should thoroughly assess the performance of the almost four-year administration of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to see whether their conditions and those of their families had improved or worsened.

Alhaji Issahaku Salia, NDC Member of Parliament for Wa East, said this at Funsi on Saturday after he had been endorsed by popular acclamation as the party's parliamentary candidate for the December elections at a constituency delegates' congress. All the 195 delegates endorsed Alhaji Salia.

Alhaji Salia, the MP for the area since 1992, thanked the delegates and assured them that he would conduct an effective campaign to retain the seat for the party.

Naa Seidu Braimah, Regional Vice-Chairman of the NDC, said unlike the NDC, the NPP government's policies do not favour the poor hence the hardships facing majority of ordinary Ghanaians. He urged Ghanaian voters to return the NDC to power in the December elections.

Madam Hajia Ajara Foroko, the Regional Women Organiser of the NDC, said women are the most affected by the economic policies of the government as they find it difficult to get capitals for their economic ventures.

Mr Labib Mohammed, Wa East constituency Chairman of the NDC, appealed to the party's supporters to come out in their numbers on December 7 to vote.
