Six of the Bujumbura accident victims identified

Winneba (C/R), March 31 GNA - Six out of the nine people who were killed on the spot in an accident near Gomoa Bujumbura, have been identified.

They are Julias King, 32, a Liberian from the Refugee Camp; Victoria Agbovor, 29; Shedreack Nkrumah, 32; Juliet Abena, 47, all Ghanaian traders at the Camp.

The rest were Mohammed Korson, a Sierra Leonean at the refugee Camp and Kojo Badu, 38 from Gomoa Bujumbura.

Mr John Edah, Officer In-charge of the Winneba Government Hospital mortuary told the Ghana News Agency at the mortuary on Thursday that three of the bodies were yet to be identified.

He said the necessary arrangements were being made to preserve the bodies until the time for their burial. Nine people were killed on the spot when an Urvan bus on which they

and some other passengers were travelling on to Kasoa collided with a tipper truck on Wednesday.

Meanwhile personnel of the Motor Traffic and Transport Union (MTTU) on the Winneba - Kasoa - Accra road have appealed to the Ministry of The Interior to provide them with gloves and other items needed to handle corpses.

They said they had to improvise by buying polythene bags to cover their hands before handling the dead bodies because they had no gloves.
