Accra, Jan. 24, GNA - The Ghana Evangelical Society (GES), a Christian Mission on Monday described the American pre-emptive war policy as in operation in Iraq as an affront to and a threat to world peace and justice and that it must stop.
"It is the cause of much suffering, hunger and death, a threat to stability and security ... and an abomination to both man and God." The Society in an article submitted to the Ghana News Agency to plead for justice and a halt to the carnage and suffering of the people of Iraq, called for the rejection of the pre-emptive war policy now being institutionalised in international relations by the USA and Australia in the war of terrorism.
According to the Society, unless the USA and her allies were called to halt their war policy, the other major military and economic powers in the world would all follow suit and adopt the same pre-emptive war policy to harass and cause mischief in the world.
"In the like vein, countries with military and economic advantage over their neighbours would soon opt for the said policy to advance territorial and economic expansionist ambitions." The Society therefore, urged all nations and peoples to pursue peace, righteousness and justice in the world.
