Huni Valley (W/R) July 15, GNA - Special sporting activities involving three Keep Fit clubs were organised at Huni Valley to mark World Day of Hunger in the Wassa West District of the Western Region at the weekend.

The Keep Fit clubs from Tarkwa, Aboso and Huni Valley-Amoanda engaged in soccer and volleyball competitions.

Mr. Isaac Kwaku Domson, Assembly Member for Huni Valley said the programme was also to whip up interests of the youth in the activities of the Keep Fit clubs in the area.

He reminded the people on the need for individuals and organisations to collaborate with the Government and other World organisation such as the Food and Agriculture Organisation to fight hunger.

Mr. Domson urged the youth to participate actively in the operations of Keep Fit clubs as a means of "Keeping their bodies and minds fit at all times".

He advised the people to keep their surroundings clean and hygienic to avoid contracting diseases and deplored the habit of some people who defecate and dump refuse indiscriminately at unapproved areas. Mr. Domson appealed to the Wassa West District Assembly to provide Huni Valley with additional toilets and other sanitation facilities.
